Whether it’s your dog’s actual birthday or their adoption day, a party can be a great way to celebrate and make it special!

Invite their fur friends…

If your pup has some dog friends that they love to play with, make sure they’re on the guest list! Alternatively, invite your friends that have similar sized dogs or dogs in general. You know your pet best, so make sure they’ll be comfortable and happy with the guest list.

Get some dog-friendly party treats…

Many local dog bakeries can make dog cakes, cupcakes, and cookies! Just be sure to keep them away from the human food so nobody gets them mixed up!

Pick your venue…

Depending on how many people and pups will be attending will determine where it makes the most sense to host the party. Your home or backyard can be an excellent choice if it’s a smaller affair. A dog park or dog-friendly human park can be great options as well, just make sure you check with the park’s management to make sure it’s okay first!

Get some birthday swag for your pup…

There’s a good chance your dog won’t have this on the whole time, but a hat or festive collar can be a fun way to be festive. Especially for the photos!

Hire a photographer *cough cough* to capture the memories…

I’d love to do a custom birthday session for you, your pups, and their guests! Beforehand, I could get some great shots of the birthday pup, and then during the festivities, I can get candids and snapshots of the party as it unfolds.

And last but certainly not least – have fun! Another year with your pup is always a good excuse to celebrate. I hope if you’re reading this that you enjoy many, many birthdays with your fur baby.
