Because pets are family, too!

Referral Program

I get asked a lot about referrals and I finally got around to put a program in place! Aside from booking a session, there is truly no greater honor than when you refer Shutter Hound Pet Photography to your friends and family. I can’t thank you enough for all of your support, but the referral program is one way I hope to give back to my amazing clients, family, and friends!

All referred sessions must have been completed before they will count.

How it Works

1. Send your friends and family my way!

2. Your friend mentions that they were referred by YOU

3. They will get $25 towards their session or prints/products

4. After their session is completed, you will get notified that you’ve earned a $25 credit to use towards a future session or prints/products from a previous session

5. Redeem your rewards within one (1) calendar year of earning

Rules and Conditions

  • This program is open only to past and existing clients of Shutter Hound Pet Photography. To be eligible to receive a referral credit you must be a client that has booked and paid for a session or have had a previous session with me.
  • Referred client (“Referee”) MUST purchase a session to receive their reward. If they book and then cancel their session, the credit is forfeited.
  • Referee MUST fully pay and complete their session in order for the Referrer to receive the credit towards a future session.
  • This reward carries no cash value and is not transferrable. It can only be used towards future sessions and can only be used by the referrer.
  • Cannot be used towards prior purchases or bookings.
  • Your rewards can accrue, so there’s no limit as to how much credit you can earn – yes, that means you could get a session for completely free!
  • Accrued rewards MUST be used within one (1) calendar year of your referral’s completed session or they are forfeited.
  • Referral rewards cannot be combined with any other discount or special with Shutter Hound Pet Photography.
  • This program will be terminated and all rewards voided if Shutter Hound Pet Photography ceases to be in business.

What about repeat clients?

I don’t have anything specific set in place, but I have been known to give some little perks to my returning clients as a thank you for choosing me yet again. ;)

Some photo sessions go beyond capturing cute faces Some photo sessions go beyond capturing cute faces and perfect lighting—they become love letters in real time. This was one of those sessions.

I recently photographed a trio of small but mighty pups: Near, a wise and gentle 4-year-old Malshi; Rem, his lively Chipoo sister at 3 years old; and Gyuvin, the tiniest and newest addition to the family—a curious and fluffy 8-month-old Pom mix with the kind of puppy energy that lights up a room. Their mom reached out for a special reason: Near, who was diagnosed with a high-grade mast cell tumor in March, is doing as well as he can post-surgery, but his prognosis is limited. The goal? To freeze this moment in time while he’s still thriving—surrounded by his pack, his person, and so much love.

This session was filled with everything I love about dogs: wagging tails, floppy ears, a bit of yapping (thanks, Gyuvin!), and plenty of treat-fueled enthusiasm. Despite the differences in age and personality, the bond between these three was undeniable. Near, ever the seasoned pro, wore his outfits with ease like he was born for the spotlight. Halloween matching costumes? This guy has experience. Rem brought the sass and sparkle, while Gyuvin gave us a bit of that chaotic puppy energy and infectious joy that only an 8-month-old can.

There was laughter, some posing chaos (as expected), and a lot of snuggling. And behind every photo was a deep, unspoken truth: the importance of holding onto now.

Sessions like these are a gentle reminder that photography isn’t just about preserving a look—it’s about honoring a life. Near may be facing a hard road ahead, but his story is far from over. These images will forever celebrate who he is: the heart of the family, the calm in the middle of the playful storm, the one who started it all.

To Near, Rem, Gyuvin, and Lea, thank you for letting me be a part of your story.

Gary, a small but mighty Chihuahua, recently faced Gary, a small but mighty Chihuahua, recently faced a tough health scare with his congestive heart failure diagnosis and ER stay. His dad wanted to commemorate their bond with a special session, capturing their time together in a way that felt natural and true to Gary’s personality—loyal, stubborn, and a little camera-shy.

Since Gary can be wary of new people and isn’t a fan of cameras, we took a patient, low-pressure approach. Giving him space and letting him stay close to his dad helped him relax. The most important shot was of the two of them together, and we captured some beautiful, genuine moments that reflect their connection.

Sessions like this remind me that photography is more than just pictures—it’s about preserving love and memories. I’m grateful to have documented this chapter of Gary’s journey and the unbreakable bond he shares with his dad. ❤️

Rin and Ippo’s mom reached out to me back in Aug Rin and Ippo’s mom reached out to me back in August to plan a December session as a Christmas gift for her husband. She wanted some photos that really showed off their personalities, and we ended up with a great mix of shots!

Rin, a German Shepherd, is all about action. She loves chasing balls and playing in the water from the hose, so we focused on getting some fun shots of her doing what she loves most. Her energy was non-stop, and it was so much fun capturing her in her element.

Ippo is the opposite—he’s way more laid-back. He preferred to lounge around for most of the session, but he did join in and play with Rin a little, which was super sweet to see. It’s always fun to capture those sibling moments!

By the end of the session, we had a great mix of photos that showed their individual personalities and a few of them together, too. I think these pictures are going to make such a special gift for their dad.

If you’ve got pets and want to capture their personalities in photos, let me know! I’d love to help create something special for you, too.
