Bailey is a 14-year-old Basset Hound. She was paralyzed three years ago due to IVDD and is a certified therapy dog with Divine Canines here in Austin. She frequently visits St. David’s Medical Center and lets children read her stories to build up their reading confidence. Unfortunately, Bailey has had some health issues recently, which is what prompted her mom to reach out. Bailey is having some kidney problems right now and her doctors aren’t sure exactly how much time she may have. She is being doted on, which I think was the case before these health issues came up anyways, and her mom is ensuring she is comfortable and enjoying the good days with her. Bailey was an absolute pro in front of the camera, although after a while I think she was starting to wonder why I was so far away and not petting her. Don’t worry – Bailey got plenty of love from both her mom and I during the session.
