On March 13, we observe K9 Veterans Day, a day dedicated to honoring the courageous military working dogs (MWDs) who serve alongside our armed forces. These extraordinary dogs play a vital role in military operations, from detecting explosives to searching for survivors, and they often go above and beyond to protect their human companions.
K9 Veterans Day is not only an opportunity to pay tribute to these remarkable animals, but it also raises awareness about the unique challenges military working dogs face, both during and after their service. As a pet photographer, I’m deeply moved by the loyalty and courage of these dogs, and I’m proud to share their stories today.
