I know it seems early, but the holidays will be here before you know it! If you’re planning to have a photo session and want to use the pictures for your Christmas cards or gifts, it’s important to have your session by the end of October to ensure you have enough time to process the photos and order any prints or products you may need.
Here are a few reasons why it’s important to plan ahead:
Photographer availability
The end of the year is a busy time for photographers, and I am no different. If you wait too long to schedule your session, your preferred date may already be booked, or I might be traveling for the holidays. Last-minute session options may be available, but a rush fee will apply.
Processing time
Once you have your session, it can take some time for me to go through the photos so you can select your favorites for me to fully edit and retouch. Depending on the number of photos taken, this could take a few days to a few weeks.
Printing and shipping time
If you plan to use your photos for holiday cards or gifts, you’ll need to order prints or products well in advance to ensure they arrive in time for the holidays. Shipping can also take longer during the busy holiday season, so it’s best to order early.
By scheduling your photo session to take place by the end of October, you’ll have plenty of time to get everything done and ensure you have beautiful photos to use for your holiday cards and gifts. So, be sure to plan ahead and book your session early to avoid any last-minute stress or disappointment.
