Because pets are family, too!

Testimonials

Kirsten was amazing to work with from start to finish! I chose her because I loved the examples of her work I saw on Instagram. She is very organized and provided an informational booklet summarizing everything about her services and tips for the photo shoot, which was very helpful. We absolutely love the final photos. Our young dog was so excited during the shoot, and I was shocked that Kirsten was able to take such amazing photos despite not having much to work with. Highly recommend! – Erin H.

“Kirsten has taken pictures of my dog, August, on a couple occasions. She is very good with animals and understands how to work with them. Sometimes August would not want to pay attention or sit still but Kirsten remained patient and understands animals will be animals. She does everything she can to capture the best pictures of your pets and enhance the beauty they already have.” – Brooke

I have done multiple sessions with Kirsten and I have always been so, so happy with my experience! She’s done portrait photo shoots with me, she’s done sessions with both of my dogs, she even photographed my engagement! I can’t even begin to tell you how incredible and professional Kirsten is. She somehow knows how to bring out the best in the people (or animals)! My dogs had so much fun in their photo shoot with Kirsten!! She was so great at getting their attention, keeping that attention, and taking unique photos that really captured my dog’s personality. I’ve been so happy with my pictures from Kirsten that I’ve gone back for more at least 5 times now. I will always recommend going to Kirsten for all of your photography needs. Thank you so much, Kirsten! Your work is unmatched. – Kiley B.

Kirsten did a mini shooting for my dog. She arrived on time at our home and was very attentive and easy to speak with during the shooting. The pictures turned out to be great and will be treasured by us. Her website is also easy to navigate. – Ada Z.

Kirsten is awesome! I reached out to Kirsten after my dog was diagnosed with lymphoma. I really wanted someone who was a dog lover that could capture her unique personality. Kirsten 100% delivered! Her communication, her blog and website, her flexibility around scheduling – it was all perfect. I couldn’t be happier with the photos and I’m grateful I’ll have the memories forever. Book her! And thank you, Kirsten! – Katy S.

Shutterhound is not only an extremely talented pet photographer, she’s a great person who supports local organizations. She photographs Running With The Dogs 5K put on by Paws Giving Independence and we couldn’t be happier to have her at our event. We love the shots she captures! – Jill A. W.

My baby boy Titan received a terminal diagnosis on June 8, 2021. I found Kirsten on Google and left a voicemail to see if we could schedule a session because I didn’t know how long I would have with him. Kirsten responded promptly, was able to get us scheduled and we did a Celebration Session of Titan’s life. She is so caring, compassionate, and the pictures came out absolutely gorgeous. A short few days after our session, my sweet boy was laid to rest. I cannot say thank you enough for our session together, this is how I want to remember him. 🙏🏽🐶🕊🙏🏽💔 Love you for an eternity my sweet Titan. – Natascha S.

You are so great at getting photos showing their true personalities. You can see their serious side and the silly ones too. Both of our Dobermans have passed that you photographed. We cherish your photo shoot. Thank you for what you do. – Shawna K.

We had a family photo session with our 2 pups that really featured our sweet Summer in Kirsten’s celebration session. Kirsten was very patient with both our dogs that had two very different energy levels (2 year old lab and 9 year old lab) and did a great job making them (and us!) look fantastic. We lost our Summer to cancer last month and we are so grateful to have these nice photos of us all. Kirsten was also very responsive & accommodating with timing and location being that we could not take Summer far from home near her end. We would highly recommend Kirsten to anyone wishing to capture some truly nice photos themselves with their pup(s)! – Molly F.

Incredibly professional, great with my dogs and took amazing photos! Highly recommend! – Amy D.

I just can’t say enough she does great work my dogs loved her… And my pictures were fantastic I would definitely recommend her to anyone! – Regina T.

This sweet session was extra special — it came abo This sweet session was extra special — it came about thanks to Paws for a Cause Benefiting Addicus’ Legacy, where Moomoo and Inès’ family bid on and won a pet photography session certificate last year. I was so excited to finally meet these two adorable girls in person and capture their unique personalities.

Moomoo, at 13 years old, was such a calm and gentle soul. She had that wise, relaxed demeanor that only comes with age, and she posed like she’s done this a hundred times before. Her soft expressions and sweet eyes made for some of my favorite portraits of the day.

Inès, on the other hand, brought all the youthful energy! At just 3 years old, she was full of curiosity and playfulness, making sure we kept things fun and lighthearted throughout the shoot. Between her joyful energy and Moomoo’s peaceful presence, they made the perfect pair.

We headed to one of my favorite park locations — a quiet, natural spot that always gives beautiful light and plenty of room for pets to relax and explore. I loved being able to capture both individual portraits of Moomoo and Inès, as well as a few sweet moments of them together. Their bond was so evident, and it really shined through in the photos.

Sessions like this are such a wonderful reminder of why I love what I do — celebrating the relationships between pets and their people, and preserving these moments forever. Moomoo and Inès’ shoot was filled with love, laughter, and a few well-earned treats. I’m so glad we could create something special for their family to treasure. 💛

Some sessions carry a little extra meaning and thi Some sessions carry a little extra meaning and this one was truly special. Moose and Ellie have spent their entire lives side by side, and their family wanted to capture that lifelong bond while the weather was still beautiful.

Moose, an elderly corgi, has been with his family for many wonderful years. Though he’s getting toward the end of his journey, his gentle spirit and sweet expression said everything about the love he’s given (and received) over the years. Ellie, his loyal chow mix sister, was right by his side — as she always has been — calm, patient, and quietly watchful.

Their humans joined in for this session, wanting some heartfelt portraits that truly reflect their life together as a family. We decided on an outdoor setting, one of my favorite natural spots that offers soft light, open space, and the kind of peaceful atmosphere that lets pets feel comfortable and at ease.

What made this session so special was the genuine connection between everyone — the little glances, the quiet moments, and the way Moose leaned into his people like he knew exactly why we were there. Ellie, ever the steady companion, seemed to understand too. Together, they created a beautiful energy that made every photo feel warm and full of love.

We focused on capturing both individual portraits and family shots, but my favorite images were the ones that showed Moose and Ellie together — their lifelong friendship in one frame.

Sessions like this are a reminder of how powerful photography can be. It’s not just about beautiful pictures; it’s about preserving the feeling of love, loyalty, and connection that pets bring into our lives. Moose and Ellie’s bond is something their family will treasure forever, and I’m so honored to have helped capture that.
I recently had the pleasure of photographing Ducki I recently had the pleasure of photographing Duckie, a big orange boy with a personality as warm as his fur. Duckie is an almost 7-year-old cat who was a little shy at first, but once he got comfortable, his playful and affectionate side came shining through.

According to his mom, Duckie’s favorite thing—aside from eating—is curling up on a lap, as long as there’s a soft pillow involved. Once he spots the perfect cushion, he’s quick to claim his spot and settle in for cuddles. His humans make sure he gets plenty of love and playtime, especially with his favorite toys: his Lion house, tunnel, and the feather string toy that never fails to get him running.

Duckie had a dental procedure back in 2023 and had to have his top fangs extracted, which gives him the funniest (and most endearing) expressions. During the session, those unique little looks made for some of my favorite portraits—each one showing off his curious and sweet personality in a way that felt truly him.

This photoshoot was extra special because it celebrated his 7th birthday—his “lucky number seven.” We focused on capturing Duckie’s charm, his cozy moments, and a few playful shots that showed his goofy side. By the end of the session, he was posing like a pro, soaking up all the attention and camera time.

It was such a joy to document this milestone for Duckie and his family. Every pet has their quirks and signature looks, and Duckie’s photos perfectly capture what makes him one of a kind. Here’s to seven years of love, laughter, and lap cuddles for this handsome orange boy. 🧡
🌈🐾 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day Today holds a 🌈🐾 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Today holds a special place in my heart as we remember the beloved pets who now wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge. Having said goodbye to a fur baby of my own, I know the ache that comes with missing those little faces, the empty spots on the couch, and the love that lingers long after they’re gone. 💔

Our pets may no longer walk beside us, but their paw prints stay forever on our hearts. 💜

If you’re remembering a sweet soul today, know you’re not alone. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered. 🌈✨

Some photo sessions go beyond capturing cute faces Some photo sessions go beyond capturing cute faces and perfect lighting—they become love letters in real time. This was one of those sessions.

I recently photographed a trio of small but mighty pups: Near, a wise and gentle 4-year-old Malshi; Rem, his lively Chipoo sister at 3 years old; and Gyuvin, the tiniest and newest addition to the family—a curious and fluffy 8-month-old Pom mix with the kind of puppy energy that lights up a room. Their mom reached out for a special reason: Near, who was diagnosed with a high-grade mast cell tumor in March, is doing as well as he can post-surgery, but his prognosis is limited. The goal? To freeze this moment in time while he’s still thriving—surrounded by his pack, his person, and so much love.

This session was filled with everything I love about dogs: wagging tails, floppy ears, a bit of yapping (thanks, Gyuvin!), and plenty of treat-fueled enthusiasm. Despite the differences in age and personality, the bond between these three was undeniable. Near, ever the seasoned pro, wore his outfits with ease like he was born for the spotlight. Halloween matching costumes? This guy has experience. Rem brought the sass and sparkle, while Gyuvin gave us a bit of that chaotic puppy energy and infectious joy that only an 8-month-old can.

There was laughter, some posing chaos (as expected), and a lot of snuggling. And behind every photo was a deep, unspoken truth: the importance of holding onto now.

Sessions like these are a gentle reminder that photography isn’t just about preserving a look—it’s about honoring a life. Near may be facing a hard road ahead, but his story is far from over. These images will forever celebrate who he is: the heart of the family, the calm in the middle of the playful storm, the one who started it all.

To Near, Rem, Gyuvin, and Lea, thank you for letting me be a part of your story.

Gary, a small but mighty Chihuahua, recently faced Gary, a small but mighty Chihuahua, recently faced a tough health scare with his congestive heart failure diagnosis and ER stay. His dad wanted to commemorate their bond with a special session, capturing their time together in a way that felt natural and true to Gary’s personality—loyal, stubborn, and a little camera-shy.

Since Gary can be wary of new people and isn’t a fan of cameras, we took a patient, low-pressure approach. Giving him space and letting him stay close to his dad helped him relax. The most important shot was of the two of them together, and we captured some beautiful, genuine moments that reflect their connection.

Sessions like this remind me that photography is more than just pictures—it’s about preserving love and memories. I’m grateful to have documented this chapter of Gary’s journey and the unbreakable bond he shares with his dad. ❤️
