This is something I’ve been thinking about for over 3 years now. I was between Austin and Nashville for a very long time but made my mind up this year that it’d be Austin. I’ve been in Peoria all my life. Born, raised, even attended college there. I was ready to spread my wings and try out a bigger city that felt more “me.” I’m single, no kids… just me and my dogs. If I’m wanting to do it, now is the perfect opportunity!
I thought 2020 would be the year, but it came early and I was offered a job in mid-December. I will be a digital content specialist at a healthcare company, which was another goal of mine. I’ve been interested in the healthcare industry since I got a taste of it working for CSE Software when we partnered with a local hospital to create a training app. I’ve also been volunteering as a therapy dog team at medical facilities since 2010, so it’s just been something I’ve been yearning for quite some time now.
I am so excited to start this new adventure! My immediate family is still in Illinois, so I’ll definitely be back from time to time for visits.
I’m most excited about the music scene, the tech scene, the nightlife, and the weather I’m about to experience in Austin. This will surely be my greatest adventure yet.
